Couples and Relationship Counselling in Godalming, Surrey and Online

Being authentically you is one of the bravest and scariest things any of us can do.

Most of us have learned that there are parts of us that are welcome and there are parts that are not.

When we hide and detach from parts of ourselves we feel their absence.

Counselling can help you find a place for all of you to exist safely and authentically.

I can help you begin reconnecting to and loving your lost pieces.

What to expect from your free call

Taking the next step can feel like a big commitment, a free call gives us the chance to see if we'd work well together without any pressure for anything more.

During the call you can ask questions like, "how does counselling work? You can share a little about what has led to you reaching out and your hopes for how I can help. We'll also make sure I have the right skills and knowledge to support you.

There's no pressure to make a decision before the end of the call. You're welcome to take some time to think and get back to me when you're ready.

It's just a small step on a longer journey, get in touch and let's see if I'm the right person to join you on it.

Kate McKenna, a qualified Integrative-Relational counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)

I can help you make sense of your present and past experiences so you can process difficult experiences and move forward with new skills, develop your natural strengths and feel confident in who you are.

Whether you're overcoming past traumas, developing acceptance of who you truly are, or building safety in your authenticity and relationships, I can support you to move towards your goals with hope and confidence."

I work with adults (16+) with a diverse range of experiences and complexities. Together we can explore themes of neurodiversity, cultural diversity, trauma and the experiences that have shaped you. As a fully-qualified counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.

People Come to Me With

A feeling of not being good enough, having pieces of themselves they've learned aren't loveable and need to be hidden away. Often they arrive feeling exhausted from pushing those pieces of themselves down, fighting burnout, confusion and a sense of longing to be seen and accepted for who they are.

When you're tired of playing a part but unsure how to do anything else, that sense of longing can become unbearable. When it stops you from being fully you in relationships, the gap that's left can be a breeding ground for low self-esteem, anxiety, people pleasing or unhealthy and unfulfilling coping strategies.

I can support you to gently invite curiosity and acceptance for all you are, whether it's pieces connected to trauma, neurodivergence or parts that were learned that are stopping you from being the friend, partner or parent you know you want to be, we can work it out safely at your pace.
