Kate McKenna MBACP - Couples and Relationship Counsellor

About Me

Hi, I’m Kate, a qualified and registered counsellor and owner of KMC Counselling.

I truly believe our happiest relationships grow from a healthy, loving relationship with ourselves. When we feel safe within ourselves, we can connect with others without defensiveness, anxiety, or insecurity. From here we can experience deeper connection and trust with the people who matter most to us.

I work with individuals, couples and relationships to help you understand the deeper issues behind your struggles. I can support you to let go of blame and move compassionately towards connection even through conflict.

How I work

I have lived experience of navigating the complexity of neurodivergence and trauma in relationships. This has created the foundations for me to work with genuine compassion and care for you as you are.

I offer transparency, safety and autonomy to all my clients. You’re healing journey is about working with your needs, boundaries, past and hopes for the future.

Many of us learned to dismiss the value of things like emotions, body sensations and body posture as things that need to be controlled or ignored. But our bodies do so much more work than they’re given credit for. When we learn to listen to the signals our bodies give, we unlock so much more of who we are and what is keeping us stuck.
